Booklet Final

14.10.16

After reviewing the draft of my 'trending styles' booklet, I have completed a final version.
Some of the changes I made include:
  • Reversing more pages into a black background to create balance and flow
  • Touching up type details (widows, orphans, spelling, grammar etc.)
  • Filling white space by rearranging layout
  • Enhancing and swapping certain images
  • Reducing the opacity of finer details (line breaks, secondary images etc.)
  • Removing aspects that weren't needed in the design
  • Enhancing overall print quality through richer blacks and higher contrast

Exposure text + bio

Exposure Text
Tattoos have become extremely popular in mainstream culture, particularly in the younger generations, however, there are still barriers preventing people from committing to a permanent mark on their skin. Introducing a semi-permanent ink alongside contemporary tattoo styles, Flux Tattoo Studio aims to expand the tattoo industry by promoting a way for people to act on their impulses and get tattooed without the fear of regretting their choices later in life.

Bio
My passion for design focuses on creating graphics and branding that both solve problems and visually communicate new ideas. By using a combination of analogue and digital media, I create an individual style and enjoy witnessing the responses people have when they see and engage with my work. I am capable of operating in both a team or in an individual capacity and my core skills are in branding, marketing, creative thinking and digital design.

Booklet draft

10.10.16

As part of my project I aim to promote contemporary tattoo styles and emerging trends within the industry. To do this I have created a booklet that identifies popular styles and artists for 2016 through to 2017. This is the draft that I printed and will use it to see the work in physical form so that I can revise the design into a final output.

Website plan + Animation Storyboard

04.10.16

 Opening Page
This page will appear before entering the website.
I plan for it to display an animation which has been storyboarded below.

Home Screen
The home screen will have a range of images which will be scrolled through,
as well as contact information and links to social media.

About Screen
This screen will have the rundown of what FLUX is
all about. It will include background information on the business.

Image Library
The library will consists of a large amount of tattoos both designed on paper, and
inked into skin. Images can be filtered by keywords, popularity, date of upload or artists.

Ephemeral Information
This page will provide information about the semi permanent ink. A link to
Ephemerals website and contact information will be included. I've also considered
animating this page to show the inks process.

FLUX Artists Bio
This screen will have information on the different tattoo artists that
work at FLUX. Each artist can be clicked on to reveal a brief bio on
them and a range of images showcasing their style of work.

Online Booking
Appointments can be made through the website and customers
can check the availability of an artist they want to see. There is also space for
images that the customer likes to be uploaded and additional comments can be made.

Storyboard for Opening Page Animation
The animation will show a style of tattoo spreading across the page, then as the tattoo starts to fade the hourglass in the FLUX logo will turn and reset. Once the tattoo has completely faded the process will repeat with a different style of tattoo.
